GABRIEL Lee President of Basketball Operations

Gabriel (Gabe) has been involved in coaching children’s basketball in the City of Richmond for over 15 years. He has served in his current position of overseeing the operations of the Municipal’s non-profit basketball offerings since 2014.

He is certified with the Coaching Association of Canada as a “Fundamentals Coach,” and is currently the Head Coach of the Gr. 7 Girls Basketball Team at St. Joseph the Worker Elementary School.

His life-long mission is to continue the legacy of the late Kobe Bryant’s living legacy of creating environments and opportunities for girls within the sport to thrive.

NAthan SCHROEDER Vice-President of Basketball Operations

This is Nathan’s fourth year serving in the role of Coordinator with West Richmond Summer Slam.

He is an alumni of the program, playing from Grade three until grade nine. This playing experience laid the groundwork for Nathan’s current passion of seeing Summer Slam reach great heights in terms of program quality and positive community impact.

Nathan played basketball at Richmond’s McNair Secondary School, in addition to club teams like RYBL rep and AthElite basketball. He is currently studying Communications at Simon Fraser University.

Davian TSANG Gr. 4-7 GIRLS HEAD COACH

Davian has been coaching girls basketball for the last 4 years. This is her second year coaching with the Summer Slam program. 

Growing up in Richmond she has spent many summers participating in Summer Slam and has also played at a club level with RYBL Rep and Triple Threat. 

She is currently a member of the Women's Basketball team at Langara College while pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. 

As an alumni of the program, she wants to give back to the community that has shaped her into the person she is today. Her goal is to cultivate an environment for youth to learn and most importantly enjoy basketball.

Aaron libby GR. 4-7 BOYS HEAD COACH

Aaron has been involved in Richmond community basketball for 12 years as a player, a volunteer, and a coach.

He has been involved in both the Richmond Youth Basketball League and West Richmond Summer Slam league acting as a coach and a mentor to give back to the programs that shaped who he is today.

He is currently studying Psychology at the University of British Columbia and hopes to continue to have basketball as an important part of his life.

He is always looking forward to another great basketball season with the players.

KYLE Christoffersen SKILLS CAMP CO-HEAD COACH

Kyle Christoffersen has been a part of the Summer Slam community as a player since he was six-years-old. He has been involved in Summer Slam Basketball in various roles over the past five seasons.

Kyle has been playing high level basketball for many years, and is currently playing for the Trinity Western University Spartans Men’s Basketball team.

He absolutely loves being a coach and creating an environment of kindness, compassion and respect, while making sure that each child enjoys their basketball experience here at Summer Slam Basketball.
